It’s filled with scenes that awards audiences would scoff at. Overall this movie is a wonderful way to crack open an old one with the (bad) boys. A sequel is on the way, big missed opportunity for marketing to call the next one Bad Boys 4 Life. I started laughing in the post-credits scene as he “Amanda Waller’d” his murderous son. Pro: Mike kicked so much ass in the drug garage that he’s starting his own suicide squad. May he drink Pepto from a full bottle in a land of no drama for all his days. I’m sad to report that they shoot my guy in the street for no damn reason! Story reasons be damned. When dude drops on the van and they drive home in its busted ass, everyone was rolling.Ĭon: Joe Pants is a legend, and he’s so good as the captain. Bad Boys has the most consistent audience laughs I’ve heard at a theater in forever. Pro: Amazing zings and laughs throughout. What a true friend, doing his usual “I’m too old for this” bit, but still taking time to paint his pal’s beard. Pro: Martin Lawrence starts out a little soft, but by the end, he is in rare form and all caps AMAZING. Pro: They brought back Reggie! He was the kid they roast at the door before his date with Marcuses daughter. When he tackles the pillar, I left my body. When Mike says he’ll pay for his therapy, I lost it. When he hulks out in the final fight and yells “Transitioning”, I was all the way in. Pro: The tech guy played by the buff Alexander Ludwig is pretty great. Speaking of… **Whatcha Gonna Do When They Spoil On You** They need to transition my guy to “man in the chair” status or tech guy. In the former, he comes off a little goofy in his daytime fight scenes.Ĭon: Martin Lawrence in motion. In the latter film, he is believably badass. That though is even weirder on the heels of Gemini Man. This was the first time in his many outings that I thought he should hang it up. Wait a sec… WILL!Ĭon: Will Smith the action star in BBFL. The last one I remember was Will and Margot Robbie in Suicide Squad/ Focus. It’s rare that actors appear in movies together this close. Their last hookup was a good one, but this time I was less impressed with the DJ. Spies in Disguise features Will/DJ Khalid and so does BBFL. Pro: Will Smith and DJ Khalid are back for… Another One. I know it’s rated R, but it was a little much at times. It’s great, I love it, it fits like a glove.Ĭon: I think my biggest critique is tied to the violence. Pro: Use of the Bad Boys song, lyrics, and beat fills me with joy. We get Reggie from Riverdale (hubba hubba), Paola Núñez (who made me shout out an audible “Dammmn”) as Rita (you’ll know the scene), and my girl Vanessa (now with bad girl braids), and the oh so svelte tech-guy! A ‘Welcome Back to Miami’ track would have been welcomed with open arms ya jerks. I’ll post **Whatcha Gonna Do When They Spoil On You** as a break in the review when I get to the full spoiler section.Ĭon: I really love this movie, but where is my Will Smith track? No new track is a crime. If 6 Underground got all the action families looks, then Bad Boys definitely got the comedy and fun. The Fast and Furious upped the ante in the most ridiculous ways. It’s exactly what you want from a theater experience. Big Willie with all his style, and Martin Lawrence going over the top/hill wild. It’s a packed theater on a Friday night kind of movie. Bad Boys for Life Reviewīad Boys for Life is nowhere near the best movie, but man is it the BEST MOVIE. For more Project-Nerd Original Content, visit our Originals Section.
